RESOURCES
2 Must Have Books for Dallas Gardeners

From the many landscape books I have owned & read, I keep these two handy. They are both excellent resources for Dallas area gardening. Both the authors have spent a lot of years in the Metroplex and they also have informative websites also listed below.

Plants of the Metroplex
Howard Garrett

Plants of the Metroplex was Howard’s first book. The revised edition now contains over 300 color photos of landscape plants for Texas together with information on the cultivation, uses, and problems of each plant

Texas Gardening
Neil Sperry

Neil Sperry’s Complete Guide to Texas Gardening, 2nd Edition. This title has sold more than 700,000 copies, making it the 4th best-selling gardening hardback in American history. And, every word of it is written expressly for Texas! Chapters cover basics of Texas gardening, landscaping, trees, shrubs, vines, groundcovers, lawns, annuals, perennials, fruit and vegetables. If it grows in a Texas landscape or garden, it’s covered in this book!
